TrapBag® Flood, Erosion & Storm Surge
For perimeter-scale flood defense, dune stabilization, and storm surge protection, Emerald Green is proud to offer TrapBag® rapid-deployment flood barriers. One 100-ft section replaces roughly 8,000 sandbags, and a crew of three can deploy a full section in under an hour. TrapBag was first designed in 2004 by founder Everett "Buzz" Waid after a hurricane devastated his Florida community, and has been deployed in thousands of miles of barrier worldwide.
Storm Surge Protection
Engineered to withstand thousands of pounds of constant water pressure from hurricane-driven storm surge, keeping water away from your property perimeter.
Erosion Control
Stabilize dunes, riverbanks, and coastal edges against wave action and flood-driven erosion, protecting the ground beneath your property.
Rapid Deployment
Each 50-ft section ships ready to deploy, unfolds accordion-style, and fills in minutes with sand or gravel, using only a skid steer and a crew of three.
Stackable Height
Start with a single 2-ft barrier and stack additional sections for greater threats, up to pyramid configurations over 6 ft tall for major flood events.
Common Questions
Flood Barriers, Answered.
What types of flood barriers does Emerald Green install?
Emerald Green installs custom aluminum plank flood barriers for every vulnerable point on a property: front doors, sliding glass doors, patio doors, French doors, single and double garage doors, oversized RV and boat garages, whole-home residential systems, commercial storefronts, loading docks, and perimeter flood gates across driveways and yard approaches. For perimeter-scale defense, we also install TrapBag rapid-deployment systems.
How does the aluminum plank flood barrier system work?
Permanent mounting channels install into the structure on either side of each protected opening, with engineered intermediate posts placed where the span requires. The hardware is powder-coated, low-profile, and stays in place year-round. When a storm is forecast, marine-grade aluminum planks slide into the channels and stack from the ground up, sealing against EPDM compression gaskets on every contact surface. The system deploys in about 15 minutes per opening.
Are Emerald Green flood barriers licensed and code-compliant in Florida?
Yes. Emerald Green Property Services is licensed under CGC1538211 and CRC1334485. We pull permits when necessary, on a project-by-project basis. Always code-compliant. Our installations are documented in a way that supports homeowner and commercial insurance conversations.
